Expectations
Classroom: My goal for students is to participate in a quality education in a safe atmosphere while creating relationships with each other. One way this is encouraged is by establishing expectations for behavior and everyone understanding them. Below are listed the main rules posted in the classroom:
1. Be prepared. (Have all materials, texts, assignments, etc. ready at the beginning of class.)
2. Be on time. (If you are in the hall when the bell rings, you are late. Every tardy counts. 3 = 1 unexcused absence)
3. Be respectful. (Treat others how you want to be treated.)
4. Be dressed appropriately. (If you think it is against the dress code, it probably is.)
5. Turn in everything on time. Missed assignments and assessments (tests, quizzes, etc.) are due the next day.
6. Follow ALL district and school rules.
Work: You will be expected to work hard every day. Everything we do in class is important, so you need to be in class every day, all period. Some days you'll have homework; some days you won't. If you miss an assignment, quiz, or test - make it up. If you are struggling, don't give up. ASK FOR HELP! Tutoring is always an option.
Materials: 3 ringed-binder or plastic folder pencils
notebook paper one box of tissues (for classroom)
one composition "old-school style" notebook
Grade Calculations: Textual Analysis 40% Vocabulary 25% Participation %10 Grammar/Composition 25%
Absences: Six or less / Seven or more absences without documentation or valid notes results in no credit for the course.
